Literary Bio

Judith Mok was born in Bergen in the Netherlands and has published four books of poetry and three novels. While based in Ireland she began to write in English at the request of Newspapers and Radio programmes. She now only writes in English and subsequenty her prose and poetry has been widely published in the English language. She has written as well for Radio and Newspapers. Her short stories have been short listed twice for the Francis Mc Manus award and her first novel ‘The innocents at the Circus’ an unpublished novel written in French for the Prix de l’Academie Francaise which led to a three day visit to the Academie. Her work has appeared nationally and internationally in numerous literary magazines and anthologies. She has been supported by the Irish Arts council. Recently, in december 2016, Judith received a Patrick Kavanagh fellowship. Her first non-fiction book, The ‘State of Dark’ will appear in 2021 as well as a book of poetry, ‘Playgrounds’.
